enhance monotypes

Color saturated, richly patterned ideas found at every visual turn. “That’s just the way it happens. I find all these collected bits of observation of pattern and color everywhere; a sun-drenched wall decorative pattern on an old pitcher, stripes on a building, a view to the sky through a tree’s spaces and of course botanical color and shape.” All this develops into the richly color-layered enhanced monotypes that Rupp is known for. “ I use botanicals because, to me, it is the most varied, exciting and unlimited array of color and pattern anywhere.” My method is similar to painting. I create my image on an aluminum plate with oil and etching ink. After removing the paper from the press. I continue to work on the image with ink and brush.
