white line woodcut
contact: constance@tfpi.org
I was captivated by the simplicity of design and the freshness of watercolor on wood when I saw my first white-line woodcut prints at a show of the Provincetown Printers at the Museum of American Art in Washington, DC. Since then it has become my favorite printmaking method. I love the translucency of the colors and the way the paper molds itself to the wood and the wood leaves its pattern on the paper. I regard myself as privileged to be one of the few artists who are preserving the Provincetown tradition.
